India admission in the Australia Group

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Angelino Alfano: “Italy welcomes India in to the Australia Group international regime, convinced that as a strong producer and exporter of biological and chemical materials and technologies  India will strengthen the Regime’s non-proliferation mission and the global non-proliferation architecture.

The Italian Government has joined all the other members of the Australia Group in recognising the commitments of the Indian Government for a full alignment of its legal system and administrative practice with the Australia Group Guidelines and Common Lists and for a responsible implementation and adaptation of its export control to the rapidly expanding of the international trade and evolving of scientific and technological challenges.

The Italian Government is ready to collaborate with the Indian Government in this matter”.
