With reference to the case of Alfie Evans, the Foreign Ministry informs that it has been in contact with the boy’s family for several days, giving them all the assistance possible through the Italian Embassy and Consulate in London. Italy has always followed the case with utmost attention and care, in consideration of its sensitive human profile and of the offer made by Rome’s Bambino Gesù Hospital to host the child.
Italy’s actions are obviously carried out in full respect of the national jurisdiction of the United Kingdom over the case of Alfie Evans, who is a British citizen.
