The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Manlio Di Stefano, met the Mongolian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Battsetseg Batmunkh, today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The Undersecretary informed the Deputy Minister of the government’s commitment towards strengthening the relationship between the two countries, as borne out by the opening of the Italian Embassy in Ulaanbaatar two years ago. He expressed the wish that the third session of the Bilateral Commission, jointly chaired by the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) and the Mongolian Ministry of Agriculture and Light Industry, would be organised in Rome next year. Finally, in the belief that culture is important for strengthening bilateral relations, the Undersecretary said that he hoped that the Executive Programme of cultural cooperation signed last year would help reinforce cooperation in that area.
