The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Manlio di Stefano, had meetings with a number of government representatives during a visit to Malaysia. Malaysia’s role as a regional hub was discussed, along with the agreement to upgrade bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.
In Kuala Lumpur, Undersecretary Di Stefano and Malaysian Minister of Housing and Local Government, Zuraida Kamaruddin, took part in the maiden flight of new helicopters. Supplied to Malaysian firefighters, these helicopters were manufactured by the Leonardo helicopter division.
The Minister also met representatives of about 100 Italian companies operating in Malaysia.
