Undersecretary Picchi met with the Secretary of State at Poland’s Foreign Ministry

The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Guglielmo Picchi, met with the Secretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Szynkowski Vel Sek, at the Farnesina Today.  

The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Guglielmo Picchi, met with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Poland, Szynskowski Vel Sek at the Farnesina today. The talks offered the opportunity to review the excellent bilateral relations, both at political and economic level, as well as a number of European and international dossiers, also in the light of the fruitful cooperation between the two Countries within the European Union, NATO and OSCE. Undersecretary Picchi assured Italy’s support to Poland’s rotating presidency of the Berlin Process for the Western Balkans, being in agreement with the priority attributed to the region’s stability.  

At bilateral level, the Undersecretary agreed with his counterpart on the need to further strengthen the political dialogue in addition to the economic and commercial relations. At present, Poland represents Italy’s 9th-largest export destination while Italy is Poland’s 5th-largest supplier and global trade partner. In this respect, Undersecretary Picchi highlighted the specific criticalities met by several Italian companies operating in the Country, hoping they might soon be overcome.
