A private sector delegation led by the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Manlio Di Stefano, visited Turkmenistan today. The delegation included representatives from the plant and industrial component manufacturing, oil and gas, defence, space and telecommunications sectors. Together with the delegation, the Undersecretary met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, the Deputy Prime Minister, Myratgeldi Meredov (gas & oil) and with Aleksandr Dadaev, Chairman of the Union of Industrialists. Undersecretary Di Stefano signed a Cooperation Programme between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries for the period 2019-2020. The visit has jumpstarted relations with Turkmenistan and consolidated an economic partnership with a country rich in natural resources that offers Italy and its industrial technology tangible prospects.
