Undersecretary Scalfarotto will represent the Government at the 14th Asia – Europe Foreign Ministers Meeting (ASEM) scheduled to be held in Madrid on Monday, 16 December and dedicated to the theme: “Europe and Asia: Together for an Effective Multilateralism”.
Bilateral meetings are scheduled on the fringes of the Meeting to discuss themes of specific interest to Italy.
He said: “Relations with our Asian partners represent a priority for Italy, from both the political and economic perspective. It is a dialogue that cannot be conducted outside of the European context, with respect to which we are called upon to continue working to assure a cohesive and coordinated action with the EU”.
