NOTE OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS – Navalny

Italy expresses deep concern about the preliminary conclusions released today by experts at the German Charité Hospital on Alexei Navalny’s clinical condition, which suggest that the Russian activist may have been the victim of poisoning. We strongly support the need to quickly shed full light on these very serious events and, in line with what has already been requested in the EU, we hope that the Russian authorities will launch as soon as possible an independent and transparent investigation with the aim of bringing those responsible to justice.
