Deputy Minister Manlio Di Stefano spoke this morning at the opening of the online workshop on “Poland and the Challenge of Energy Transition. Building a Partnership with Italy”, organised by the Italian Embassy in Poland and the ICE Agency, with the participation of representatives of the Italian and Polish institutions and companies. Various thematic panels were held to present development plans and discuss the key areas of energy transition: gas, photovoltaic, wind, biomass and hydrogen.
“Both Italy and Poland – the Deputy Minister declared – are embracing energy transition towards renewable sources and have understood the importance of the technological innovation and security of the energy supplies”.
Mr. Di Stefano then continued, with regard to the forthcoming COP26 conference, which Italy will chair in partnership with the United Kingdom, “we count on the support of Poland to ambitiously drive the sustainable energetic transition process. Green hydrogen, biogas, biofuels, photovoltaic and wind energy are the new frontiers, which we intend to increasingly invest in”.
“Italy is engaged in launching the idea that the energy sector can lead us towards environmental and climate sustainability and that this can be achieved through State-driven market mechanisms. To this end, we committed to working at national, international and European level, as demonstrated by our contribution to the National Hydrogen Strategy, the important projects of common European interest (IPCEI), the European Green Deal, the G20 Presidency and the COP26”. – the Deputy Minister concluded.
