“Italy has consistently supported the strengthening and consolidation of relations between the European Union and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.” said the Italian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marina Sereni, during a cordial conversation this morning with Leire Pajin Iraola, President of the EU-LAC Foundation, whose purpose is to foster bi-regional relations between the EU and the countries of the Latin American and Caribbean region.
“The EU-LAC Foundation – Ms. Sereni said to President Leire Pajin – is a particularly useful instrument for consolidating the strategic partnership between the European Union and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.”
Expressing appreciation for the lines of action illustrated by the President of the EU-LAC Foundation, the Vice Minister took the opportunity to mention the 10th Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Conference scheduled to be held in Rome next October 25-26.
“The Conference, organised in collaboration with the International Italo-Latin American Organization – the Vice Minister pointed out – will be held shortly before the G20 Summit, of which Italy is the president this year. Our goal – Ms. Sereni concluded – is to address the founding themes of the G20 in respect of this event also, namely, People, Planet, Prosperity, with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean and the aim of identifying fruitful areas of dialogue and collaboration.”
