The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will spare no effort, in coordination with all the competent State apparatuses, to accurately establish the facts relating to the tragic attack in the DRC in which Ambassador Luca Attanasio and Carabiniere Vittorio Iacovacci lost their lives.
In this regard, as in every tragic circumstance involving our fellow citizens abroad, and respectful of the grief of the families of the victims, the Italian Foreign Ministry hopes the media will use the utmost caution in its reconstructions of the tragic event, which could turn out to be imprecise or even misleading.
In the next few hours, Minister Di Maio is expected to provide Parliament with all the information currently available on the incident.
