The call for applications for “digital TEM vouchers” will open on 9 marzo 2021 50 million euros allocated to help small enterprises engage e-skilled temporary export managers for boosting business internationalisation

A priority project aimed at improving exports through the gradual transition of businesses towards increasingly widespread digitalization, as part of the innovative strategy to support business internationalisation kickstarted by Minister Di Maio with the Pact for Export, is currently taking shape.

The ‘digital TEM voucher’ programme, launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for small Italian enterprises and managed by Invitalia, will be set in motion on 9 March. The programme aims to employ experts with digital skills – called ‘temporary export managers’ (TEM) – to assist and support the internationalisation processes.

Each voucher amounts to €20,000 per company and can be increased to €30,000 if the objectives of increasing export turnover, and the percentage of exports in total turnover, are achieved.

The voucher has been designed for small enterprises in the manufacturing sector with less than 50 employees, which require professional assistance to start or inprove their standing on foreign markets. Networks between micro and small enterprises are also eligible.

Businesses can use the voucher by concluding internationalisation consultancy contracts for at least one year with one of the TEMs, or TEM companies, registered with and listed by the Ministry.

Professionals wishing to register as e-skilled Temporary Export Managers with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation can find updated information at www.invitalia.it. They must possess significant experience in organising distribution networks for products in new foreign markets, with expertise in helping businesses to participate in international trade fairs in virtual mode, integrated logistics tools, e-commerce, concluding agreements and developing relations with foreign-based businesses, and must also hold at least two among the most widely accredited qualification certificates on the use of digital marketing tools.

In the forthcoming days businesses will find information, on the special web platform made available at www.invitalia.it, on how to submit applications for the voucher.
