Brexit: Deputy Minister Della Vedova from tomorrow on a mission to London

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Benedetto Della Vedova, from tomorrow, Thursday, May 27th until Saturday, May 29th, will be on a mission to London for a series of meetings with the United Kingdom’s institutional and political representatives as with the Italian community in London.

In the afternoon of Thursday, May 27th, Deputy Minister Della Vedova is expected at the Home Office where he will have a meeting with Kevin Foster, Minister for Future Borders and Immigration; at the end, he will go to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to meet Lord Ahmad Of Wimbledon, Minister for South Asia and The Commonwealth and, to follow, with Wendy Morton, Minister for European Neighbourhood and the Americas. At the core of the talks of this first day, among other things, the detentions of EU citizens without regular visas occurred in recent weeks.

In the morning of Friday, May 28th, Della Vedova will have a briefing with the representatives of the business community and the world of Italian culture in the United Kingdom. Della Vedova will then go to the Parliament where he will see Lisa Nandy, Shadow Foreign Secretay of the Labour Party; at the end, he will meet the Consul General in London, Marco Villani, the Consul General in Edinburgh, Fabio Monaco and the Consul General in Manchester, Matteo Corradini. After lunch with representatives of the Italian community and the promotion of the Italian language and culture, Della Vedova will visit the offices of the Consulate General. On this occasion, he will meet a group of young Italian professionals in the UK. At 17.15 (local time), he will meet the Italian press at the Italian embassy in the UK. The mission will end with a dinner with representatives of the “Sistema Italia “(Italian System) in the UK.
