Concerning the accident that involved the Italian fishing boat “Aliseo” off the Libyan coast today, sources of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that that the captain suffered only minor injuries that do not cause concern.
Investigations are underway into the circumstances of what happened.
Today’s episode nevertheless confirms the danger of the area off the coast of Libya where fishing is prohibited. The area was defined as a “high risk” area for all vessels in May 2019 by the Interministerial Committee on Transport Safety.
