The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its satisfaction with announcing the start of negotiations in Mexico City between the Venezuelan authorities and opposition forces, with the mediation of Norway, to find a solution to the political and humanitarian crisis in the South American country, to which Italy provides its support.
Jointly with the European Union and the International Contact Group, Italy has always consistently encouraged efforts to find a democratic and peaceful Venezuelan-led solution to the crisis that allows the people of Venezuela to express themselves through credible local, parliamentary and presidential elections.
