The Foreign Ministry expresses its great satisfaction for the decision of the German Judicial Authorities to hand over to the Italian Authorities the Russian citizen of Chechen origin, Rassoul Bissoultanov, considered to be the perpetrator of the brutal murder of the young Italian Niccolò Ciatti in Spain, on 13 August 2017.
The extradition granted by Germany follows a European Arrest Warrant, issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Rome in 2020, on the basis of which the German authorities were able to arrest the Russian national in their country on 3 August.
This important result has been achieved thanks to the constant contacts of the Italian Embassies in Berlin and Madrid with the respective local authorities, as an essential step in preventing the accused from escaping justice.
