As of today, the new ATRIO (Archivio dei Trattati Internazionali Online) portal is accessible at https://atrio.esteri.it/, an application that offers users the possibility to trace and consult all of Italy’s internationally binding agreements through a simple and intuitive interaction.
The new portal, curated by the 1st Office of the Service for Legal Affairs, Diplomatic Disputes and International Agreements, is configured as an extremely innovative instrument also if compared against similar international treaties databank consultation services made available by our principal international partners. Indeed, users will not only be able to have quick online access to the texts of all the international agreements to which Italy is a party but also consult, extract, and aggregate all the data and information available on each agreement.
The arrangement, verification, and digitalization of the more than 6,000 bilateral and multilateral international agreements signed by Italy and kept in the original version in the Treaties Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, forms part of the in-depth overview of the national praxis of handling Treaties, which aims to better promote and bring to fruition our Country’s legal diplomacy initiatives.
