In relation to the news concerning former senator Vito Rosario Petrocelli’s presence in Libya, the Farnesina confirms that, as he no longer holds any institutional role, the former senator visited that country in a personal capacity.
Any declaration made by him should not therefore be viewed as a position entailing any commitment by the Italian Republic or the Government.
Italy reiterates its commitment to the stabilisation of Libya and its territorial unity and integrity.
