Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, meets the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri

Today Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, met the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, to discuss Rome’s candidacy for EXPO2030.

The Deputy Prime Minister confirmed the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its network of diplomats and consuls for the city’s candidacy, including targeted promotional events both abroad and in Italy. Among the major upcoming events, Tajani and Gualtieri mentioned the Ryder Cup next September, which will be a further opportunity to project the city internationally, with an important impact on the economic and productive fabric of the country.

Deputy Prime Minister Tajani and Mayor Gualtieri therefore agreed to further strengthen the already excellent partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the City of Rome, and to work together with all the entities of the Country Economic System to ensure that the City of Rome can host the World’s Fair, which represents a great economic, political and cultural opportunity not only for Italy but also for Europe.
