Today, after yesterday’s visit to Singapore, where Italian Undersecretary Maria Tripodi attended the inauguration of the contemporary art exhibition “La Grande Visione Italiana – Collezione Farnesina” (“The Great Italian Vision – Farnesina Collection”) and met the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and the Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Culture, Undersecretary Tripodi arrived in Tokyo, the second stop of her visit to Asia.
In the Japanese capital the Undersecretary will meet the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Yuumi Yoshikawa, the President of the Italy-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association Akira Amari, and the Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Makoto Nagamine. Support for Rome’s candidacy to host the 2030 World Expo, cooperation in the economic, political and cultural fields, and cooperation within the G7, whose Presidency is held by Japan this year, will be at the heart of the talks. To conclude, Undersecretary Tripodi will meet at the Embassy representatives of Italian companies operating in Japan.
The visit will continue in Hanoi at the weekend, where an event is scheduled to present the RomaExpo2030 candidacy to the media, to be followed by institutional meetings with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Phuong Hoa, with members of the Italy-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Association, and with representatives of the Italian system in Vietnam. Undersecretary Tripodi will also attend a concert to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam.
