Italy strongly condemns the launch by the DPRK of an intercontinental ballistic missile on 18 February and of two short-range ballistic missiles on 20 February. Such illegal activities threaten regional and international peace and security and are a matter of grave concern.
Italy reiterates its urgent and strong call on the DPRK to abandon its weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner and to fully comply with all legal obligations arising from the relevant Security Council resolutions.
Italy remains strongly committed to working with all partners and allies towards the goal of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and to upholding the rules-based international order.
