New cooperation protocol with the Chamber of Deputies

In the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani and the President of the Chamber of Deputies Lorenzo Fontana, the Secretary General of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia, and the Secretary General of the Chamber of Deputies, Fabrizio Castaldi, today signed the text of the addendum to the Protocol of Understanding on cooperation in the field of training between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Chamber of Deputies.

With the addendum signed today, the framework of joint training initiatives between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chamber of Deputies is enriched by a new chapter: just as Legation Counsellors can carry out an internship in Montecitorio, now Parliamentary Counsellors will have the opportunity to carry out an internship at the Farnesina or in some of the foreign network’s offices.

“The signing of the addendum confirms the great attention that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attaches to staff training, also through growing relations with the other institutions of the Republic”, said Deputy Prime Minister Tajani, who also stressed how this initiative is in line with an increasingly important role of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting and protecting the national interest on the international scene.
