At the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Italy was summoned to the Farnesina today regarding the decision by the Russian Federation Authorities to include RAI journalist Stefania Battistini and cameraman Simone Traini in the international wanted list.
Ambassador Alexey Paramonov was informed of Italy’s strong surprise and disapproval of the measure taken against them.
Italy reaffirms the importance of freedom of the press, information, and reporting as fundamental values to be safeguarded and upheld universally.
