Italian journalists attacked in the Netherlands by anti-Israel militants – Tajani asks the Dutch government for information and protection

On instructions from Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, the Italian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Giorgio Novello, immediately contacted the Dutch authorities to gather information on the aggression and threats against a journalist and a cameraman of Tg1 Rai in Amsterdam.

This incident is part of a particularly serious series of attacks on Israeli fans, as part of an antisemitic sentiment that the Dutch government has described as very pervasive and worrying.

In the context of Minister Tajani’s priority focus on the fight against anti-Semitism, the Italian Embassy to the Netherlands continues to monitor the development of this type of activity, which in recent days has endangered Israeli citizens as well as citizens of other nationalities. In particular, the commitment to safeguarding and protecting Italian journalists and media workers in every scenario is maintained.
