Today, the ninth Italian Design Day is celebrated in 65 countries around the world

The ninth edition of Italian Design Day kicks off today, an event promoted by the Italian Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Culture – Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity, in collaboration with the Association for Industrial Design (ADI), the ADI Compasso d’Oro Collection Foundation, Triennale Milano, Salone del Mobile, Federlegno Arredo, and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA).

This year’s theme, “Inequalities. Design for a Better Life”, is linked to the title of the 24th International Exhibition at Triennale Milano, “Inequalities. Design for a Better Life”. The initiative will resonate through a series of major industry events, from the Design Week in April 2025 to the Salone del Mobile in Milan, culminating in the ADI Design Museum. The year dedicated to design will reach its peak with the 24th International Exhibition at Triennale Milano (May – November 2025), offering a diverse range of exhibitions and thematic projects that highlight design’s role as a driver of social and cultural innovation.

The event aims to promote Italian design abroad, supporting exports and the internationalisation of businesses in the sector. It also seeks to foster international knowledge-sharing and exchange of technical and creative expertise while encouraging inbound tourism. Thanks to the support of Italy’s diplomatic network, professionals and creatives from the sector will, starting today, present projects and initiatives in 65 countries and 84 cities worldwide, focusing on developing concrete solutions to the social and environmental challenges of our time.
