The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Giorgio Silli, ended a mission to the Principality of Monaco where he chaired – together with Minister of State Isabelle Berro-Amadei – the third Italian-Monegasque Joint Commission. The main topics on the agenda included the stepping up of bilateral relations, the mutual promotion of investment, increased cooperation in linguistic-cultural matters, transport and social security, as well as collaboration between the Guardia di Finanza (Inland Revenue Police) and the Department of Public Security of the Principality.
While recalling the importance of the recent mission of Minister Tajani last February, Undersecretary Silli said: “Italy and the Principality of Monaco are nations linked by centuries-old ties of history, culture, friendship and collaboration, which are reflected in the excellent state of our relations, the potential of which we want to further strengthen.” The numbers, indeed, show the solidity of the partnership with the Principality, of which Italy is the second commercial partner, with a particularly dynamic bilateral trade.
Considering the high complementarity between the two economies and the importance of the Italian community living in the Principality, deepening social ties, logistical connections and commercial opportunities is in fact a strong priority for the Government. This is the reason why, during the works, the will to organize an Italian-Monegasque Business Forum as soon as possible was confirmed.
