The Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani will take part today at 8 p.m. to the presentation of Mario Giro’s new book Pace in tempo di guerra (Peace in time of War) at the Cloister of San Domenico in Fondi.

The event will also be attended by Andrea Riccardi, President of the Dante Alighieri Society, Mons. Luigi Vari, Archbishop of Gaeta, Marco Impagliazzo, President of the Community of Sant’Egidio, and Rosario Carello, Vatican journalist for Tg2. The presentation will deepen the role of dialogue and negotiation in the search for peace, in the light of the main crisis scenarios affecting Europe and the Mediterranean.

In his speech, the Minister will reaffirm Italy’s support for Kyiv and its commitment, alongside the European Union, to a just and lasting peace, including through support for the country’s reconstruction, with some 3.2 billion euros already earmarked for the recovery. On the Middle East front, Tajani will emphasise the need to promote de-escalation and dialogue between all parties with a view to a peaceful resolution of the conflict, whilst also highlighting Italy’s humanitarian commitment through the ‘Food for Gaza’ and ‘Italy for Sudan’ initiatives.
