Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani will be in Brussels today to attend two events at the European Parliament honouring the memory of David Sassoli and Silvio Berlusconi.
Minister Tajani will represent the Italian Government at the ceremony to name a European Parliament building after David Maria Sassoli. During the ceremony, the Minister will deliver remarks alongside European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Italian and European political figures will also attend, including S&D Group President Iratxe García Pérez, Democratic Party Secretary Elly Schlein, and former Italian Prime Minister and European Commission President Romano Prodi.
During his visit to Brussels, the Minister will also attend “Silvio Berlusconi. 90 Years: An Italian Story”, an event at the European Parliament honouring the former Prime Minister and founder of Forza Italia, who would have turned 90 on 29 September. The event will commemorate Silvio Berlusconi’s life and his role in Italian and European public affairs.
