The G7+ ministerial meeting on Ukraine’s energy resilience ahead of the 2026/27 winter season took place today in Paris. Undersecretary Massimo Dell’Utri attended via videoconference, acting on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Tajani.
“Italy will continue to be at the forefront of efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience and nuclear safety, including through contributions from our private sector in the form of donations of generators, thermal power plants, solar panels and protective nets against drones,” said Dell’Utri.
The meeting focused on Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy and civilian infrastructure, preparations for the winter season and the coordination of international aid. Undersecretary Dell’Utri reiterated Italy’s solidarity with Ukraine and the importance of the G7+ mechanism, of which Italy has been a member since 2022.
Italy has so far allocated EUR 240 million to energy assistance for Ukraine, as part of a total of 3.2 billion in bilateral civilian aid. In 2026 alone, EUR 10 million were allocated through the Energy Community and 300 boilers were delivered, whilst a further 150 will be supplied by the start of next year.
