Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paolo Gentiloni, had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu to express his satisfaction for the successful popular mobilization and defence of the institutions. Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu, who was talking from the capital Ankara, confirmed the failure of the coup attempt he defined as terrorist.
