The Italian Cultural Institute in Brussels presents “Ci vuole Pazienza”, a series of events centred on the Italian comics legend, Andrea Pazienza.

One of the greatest representatives of the Italian artistic world of the 1970s and 1980s, who died prematurely at the age of 32, Andrea Pazienza recounted the contradictions of his generation through his drawings, stories and characters.

On 7 February, the exhibition “Andrea Pazienza, il genio del fumetto” (Andrea Pazienza, the genius of comics) will be inaugurated, shedding light on the artist defined as the Mozart of comics and also providing a fascinating portrait of Italy at that time.

During the inauguration, a meeting will be held at the Institute of Culture with the exhibition’s curators – Marina Comandini, Andrea Pazienza’s wife, and Antonello Vigliaroli, Director of SPLASH, the “Andrea Pazienza”’ Bibliographic Archives of MAT, the Alto Tavoliere Museum of the Municipality of San Severo, the city where the artist spent his childhood.

On the final day of the exhibition, 8 April, a song-theatre performance will be finally staged with Peppe Voltarelli, voice and guitar, Luca Ciarla violin and piano, videos by Keziat and live painting by Marina Comandini.
