Marcello Vincenzo Domenico Mastroianni was born on 28 September 1924, and this year he would have turned 100. He is the quintessential Italian actor who shaped the history of Italian cinema alongside its most iconic directors. With his filmography, he built an encyclopedia of styles and characters, years of success, stories, and dreams.
To honour the legacy of this great actor, the Consulate General of Italy in Rosario has decided to celebrate him with an unusual, often overlooked, yet remarkable film, Il dramma della gelosia, directed by the master Ettore Scola. This film, which earned Mastroianni the Best Actor award at the 1970 Cannes Film Festival, also stars Monica Vitti and Giancarlo Giannini.
The screening will take place on 28 September at 6:00 p.m., at El Cairo Cine Público (Rosario, Santa Fe).
