The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with MIDJ – the Italian Jazz Musicians Association, is promoting “OltreConfine – Italian Jazz Around the World”, an initiative aimed at supporting and enhancing the Italian jazz scene on an international level.

Through this call, the project offers partial or full financial support to Italian jazz musicians who wish to perform abroad, encouraging their participation in major festivals, clubs, and cultural venues. In addition to concerts, the programme also includes funding for workshops, lessons, courses, and seminars, with the goal of promoting Italian jazz culture globally.

The call is open to all jazz musicians over the age of 18, with no age limits and regardless of MIDJ membership. Both soloists and ensembles with a majority of members of Italian nationality or residency are eligible to apply.

The programme finances concerts and tours abroad with an original jazz repertoire. Proposals that have already received funding from other institutions or public programmes are excluded. Activities must take place between 1 January and 15 November 2025, with eligible expenses starting from 1 October 2024.

The available contributions are up to €5,500 for tours within Europe and up to €8,500 for tours outside Europe. Eligible expenses include travel, accommodation, promotion, and customs fees.

Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on 15 April 2025.

Proposals will be evaluated by a panel of experts based on artistic quality, the candidate’s experience, and the consistency of the project with their career. The results will be published by 9 May 2025 on the official MIDJ channels.
