On 13 May, the Embassy of Italy in Doha, Qatar, organised the screening of a documentary dedicated to Gae Aulenti, the Italian architect and designer who stands as a symbol of independence and female talent in the second half of the twentieth century, and the creator of iconic works such as the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.
Her legacy is also commemorated in Milan through Piazza Gae Aulenti, in the Porta Nuova district, an example of urban regeneration and a major international real estate project to which Qatar contributed as an investor.
The screening was followed by a panel discussion with architecture and design experts based in Qatar, featuring the participation of Ibrahim Mohamed Jaidah, CEO of the Arab Engineering Bureau and Creative Designer Shaikha Al Sulaiti.
