The Italy-Africa Conference also hosts an art exhibition from Ivory Coast

A selection from the exhibition ‘Ivory Coast: Identity and Vitality of Contemporary Art’ is on display at the Farnesina from 22 to 26 October, concomitantly to the Italy-Africa Conference. The exhibition represents an ideal voyage towards acquiring a deeper knowledge of the African continent. The exhibition itinerary, which will be followed by the participants of the 25 October Italy-Africa Conference, was jointly inaugurated by the Vice Foreign Minister Emanuela del Re and the Ambassador of Ivory Coast, Janine Tagliante-Saracino.

The whole exhibition, curated by Massimo Scaringella and co-organised by the Embassy of the Ivory Coast and the Italian Foreign Ministry, was hosted at the Museum of Contemporary Art in the Mattatoio of Rome from June through September. On display were 24 works by 7 Ivorian artists, all internationally known, who offered an unprecedented perspective of the representation and identity of a vital and dynamic continent.

The works displayed along the itinerary leading the delegates to the Conference Hall hosting the Italy-Africa Conference will be viewable to the public on the Ministry’s Open Doors Day next 26 October. This is the initiative through which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the general public, talking directly with citizens to illustrate the history of the building and its art collections.
