Today the Secretary General, Amb. Elisabetta Belloni, opened at the Foreign Ministry the first meeting of the new Scientific Committee for the publication of Italian diplomatic documents. The Committee, chaired by Prof. Francesco Lefebvre D’Ovidio, will be responsible over the next five years for the publication of the volumes containing the most important historical-diplomatic documents of Italy, recounting its foreign policy.
The Committee, created in 2015, is composed of renowned university professors, who carry out their work free of charge. The work of the Committee does not only focus on the publication of the documents, but supports the enhancement of the historical-archival heritage of the Foreign Ministry, promoting scientific research.
