The ASEAN AWARENESS FORUM will take place at the Foreign Ministry in Rome on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 March 2012.
This first plenary event is being organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with Confindustria, the employers’ federation. It will provide Italian enterprises, associations and internationalisation bodies with a full and comprehensive picture of business conditions and investment and cooperation opportunities in the countries of the ASEAN region.
The event will be opened by Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi and the ASEAN Secretary General, Surin Pitsuwan.
The institutional session will be open to the press. It will start at 9.30 on Thursday 22 March with speeches by Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi; ASEAN Secretary General, Surin Pitsuwan; the current holder of the ASEAN Presidency, Sok Siphana; and the Deputy Head of the European Commission, Antonio Tajani.
Journalists and camera operators interested in following the event are asked to apply for specific accreditation using the online accreditation system. Please complete the interactive form provided in the “Journalists Area” of our website http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, to which all required documentation can be attached in digital format (photo, letter from their media organisation, and note verbale for foreign journalists in Italy).

Accredited members of the press will be admitted at the main entrance to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, right side (Sala Ospiti), according to the following schedule:
– camera operators: from 8:30 to 9:00 (for the tour de table)
– journalists: from 8:45 to 9:15
