Convegno “Montessoriani e nativi digitali” (Farnesina, 14 febbraio 2014)

On 14 February 2014 the Foreign Ministry in Rome will host the conference “Montessori method and the challenge of digital natives”.

The event will be opened at 9:30 by Under-secretary for Foreign Affairs Mario Giro, and its participants will include Under-Secretary for Education, University and Research Gabriele Toccafondi, President of ANINSEI Luigi Sepiacci and MFA Director General for Resources and Innovation Elisabetta Belloni.

The conference’s purpose is to examine the evolution in the ways that the younger generation of children (so-called “digital natives”) are learning, taking its cue from the effect of the introduction of tablets among the foreign ministry’s day care centre’s learning tools. On the strength of the results of Montessori-style experimentation, experts and educational professionals will discuss the opportunities and limitations of using new technologies in teaching children and possible future scenarios.

Journalists and camera operators interested in covering the event are asked to apply for specific accreditation using the online accreditation system available at http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, to which all required documentation can be attached in digital format (letterhead note from the home press organisation, note verbal issued by the Embassy on Rome of the home country of the organisation).

If in exceptional cases it is not possible to complete the online accreditation procedure, requests may be sent by email or fax to the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (fax 06/3691.7193 – tel. 06/3691.3432).

Accredited members of the press will be admitted at the left side of the main entrance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 9:00 onward.
