“EXPO 2015: Objective, Italy”, an event organised jointly by the Foreign Ministry and Lombardy Region, will take place at 17.00 on Thursday 19 June 2014. The event will showcase the quality, attractions and opportunities of the Italian regions in the run-up to the Universal Exposition in Milan.
The event, intended mainly for the diplomatic corps, will be opened by Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini. Her opening address will be followed by presentations from the President of the Conference of the Regions, Vasco Errani; the Minister for Agriculture Policies, Maurizio Martina; the Under-Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, Graziano Delrio; the President of Lombardy Region, Roberto Maroni; the Commissioner for EXPO 2015, Giuseppe Sala; the Commissioner General for the Italian Pavilion, Diana Bracco; and the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Mons. Adriano Bernardini.
EXPO ambassadors will then take the floor: art historian Philippe Daverio, businesswoman and Women’s Ambassador for EXPO Milan Gaetana Jacono, chef Carlo Cracco and cycling champion Felice Gimondi.
The “From the EXPO to the Regions. Exploring food, wine and culture” project will also be introduced during the event. The project, organised by the Prime Minister’s Office, is designed to promote cultural and food and wine tourism throughout Italy in the context of the Universal Exposition.

– attach all required documentation (if not already submitted) to the form, in digital format

– a letter from your media organisation
– for foreign journalists in Italy: a note verbale issued by the Embassy in Rome of your media organisation’s country.

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews should report to the rear entrance to the Ministry at “via della Macchia della Farnesina”, from 15.15 until 16.00.
Since Villa Madama is closed to private vehicles, there will be a shuttle service between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Villa Madama with departures from the Ministry from 15.15 to 16.00 and return service until the end of the event.
