ACCREDITATION NOTICE – Recall: The Italian Cooperation’s participation in the Milan Expo 2015 and the European Year for Development (Farnesina, 16 April 2015)

On Thursday 16 April at 10:00 the Farnesina will host the presentation of the Italian Cooperation’s participation in the 2015 Milan EXPO and of the European Year for Development. Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Lapo Pistelli will chair the meeting, during which the calendar of events organised by the Directorate for Development Cooperation for both events will be presented.

Outlined on the basis of consultations with representatives of System Italy, the United Nations and The European Union, the calendar includes conferences and workshops on topics such as the global development agenda, manufacturing and the role of women in food security, as well as educational initiatives such as a summer camp for students and a concert for World Food Day.

The European Year for Development was proclaimed by the European Union with the aim of raising citizen awareness and involvement in cooperation and global development, in addition to communication and information activities for the public at large, particularly young people, made possible by a contribution from the European Commission.

Also to be presented, an updated “OpenAid” platform for the consultation and use of the data on official Italian development aid, and the Italian Cooperation’s new website.

Online accreditation system. Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in following the event should:

– complete the interactive form available at http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp

– attach all required documentation (if not already submitted) to the form, in digital format

Required documentation:

– a letter from your media organisation

– for foreign journalists in Italy: a note verbale issued by the Embassy in Rome of your media organisation’s country.

If you are unable to complete the online accreditation procedure, please send your application by fax, on your media organisation’s letterhead, to the Foreign Ministry’s Press and Institutional Communication Service (tel. 06/3691.3432-8573-8210).

Accredited members of the press will be admitted at the main entrance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, left side, at 9.30.
