On Thursday 14 April at 9:15 a.m., at the Farnesina, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Giampaolo Cantini, and the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), Laura Frigenti, will present to the press the National Plan to tackle the food emergency provoked by the “El Niňo” climate phenomenon in numerous African Countries.
The Plan envisages the implementation of interventions in five Countries (Ethiopia, Mozambique, Malawi, Swaziland and Zimbabwe) for a total of 10 million euros to be allocated to emergency aid interventions in favour of the most vulnerable communities and to projects aimed at restarting agro-pastoral activities, to be implemented by Italian NGOs operating on site and by the organisations of the UN system.
