On Tuesday, 17 May, at 10:30 a.m., at the Farnesina, the Director General of Development Cooperation, Giampaolo Cantini, Prof. Pierluigi Beomonte Zobel of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Information Technology of the University of L’Aquila and Dr. Giorgio Felzani, Chief Medical Officer of the San Raffaele nursing home in Sulmona, will present to the press the “TELEPRESENCE ROBOT” project.
The Telepresence Robot project is a unique rehabilitation process – fruit of the collaboration between the San Raffaele Group, the Italian Development Cooperation department (MAECI), the University of L’Aquila, the Shibaura Institute of Technology of Tokyo and the National Rehabilitation Center for persons with Disabilities (NRCD) of Tokyo – which enables a hospitalised patient to continue working as if at his/her own office desk.
Testimonial of the project is Ester Conti, an employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation who became paraplegic 13 years ago and who, thanks to the Telepresence Robot project, is continuing her rehabilitation at the San Raffaele nursing home in Sulmona while being “present” in her Rome office through a special robot.
