ACCREDITATION NOTICE – Presentation of Italy’s participation in the International Expo at Astana dedicated to “Future Energy” (Farnesina, 4 May, 2017)

The Farnesina will present – in the Aldo Moro Hall on Thursday 4 May 2017, from 5:00 to 6:30 pm – Italy’s participation in the International Expo at Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. The Expo, which will be held from 10 June to 10 September 2017, is dedicated to  “Future Energy”.

The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Sen. Benedetto Della Vedova, will chair the event, and it will be attended by the Undersecretary of State for Economic Development, Hon. Ivan Scalfarotto. It will be moderated by the Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, Plenipotentiary Minister Vincenzo De Luca.

Also attending will be: the Italian Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Commissioner of the Italian Section, Stefano Ravagnan, the President of the Conference of Italian Regions and Autonomous Provinces, Stefano Bonaccini, the Director General of the Italian Trade Agency, ICE and Piergiorgio Borgogelli, the First Secretary of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Italy, Almasbek Zhumadilov.

The designer of the Italian Pavilion, arch. Paolo Desideri and the artistic curator, arch. Stanislao Cantono di Ceva, will illustrate the items in the Italian pavilion which extends over 900 sqmt, and is among the largest ones at the Expo. The Pavilion will provide an immersive experience through the evolution of energy in Italy, from the post-war years to the latest technologies geared to cutting down on CO2 emission, increasing energy efficiency and promoting alternative energy sources.

One hundred and four countries and thirteen  international organisations will be taking part at Expo Astana.

Italy has a wide array of participants, coordinated by MAECI, MISE and ICE as the managing body.

The Italian pavilion is sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea, ENEA and companies, associations and foundations: Assolombarda, Bracco, ENEL, Enerco Distribuzione, ENI, Fondazione Alessandro Volta, Expertise/KIOS, Fondazione Milano per Expo 2015, IVECO/CNH Industrial, LCW Group, OICE, SITIE.

Fifteen Italian regions will be featured at the Expo: Basilicata, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazium, Liguria, Lombardy, Marche, Piedmont, Apulia, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany, Umbria and Veneto. They will take turns according to a calendar of  “weeks of protagonism” coordinated by the Conference of Italian Regions and Autonomous Provinces. 

Journalists, photographers and TV crews are requested to apply for accreditation in one of the following ways:

–    by filling in the interactive form at http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country).   

–   by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (Tel. + 39 06/3691.3432 or 8573 or 8210), attaching the letter of his/her media organisation (or press card) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country.

     Journalists, photographers and TV crews can collect their accreditation badges at the main  entrance, left-hand side, from 16:15 pm to 17:00 pm.
