On Thursday, 23 May 2019, at 3 p.m., the Farnesina will host “Africa Day 2019”, an event to celebrate the establishment of the African Union and to strengthen relations with African Countries.
The event will be introduced by the Director General for Globalisation and Global Issues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), Luca Sabbatucci, who will read a message of greetings from the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. The agenda will follow with scheduled speeches by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emanuela Claudia Del Re, by Hélène Marie Laurance Ilboudo née Marchal, Minister of Women, National Solidarity, Family and Humanitarian Action of Burkina Faso, by Cecilia Obono Ndong, Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea Equatoriale, in representation of the African Diplomatic Corps, and by Hisham Mohamed Moustafa Badr, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in representation of the rotating Presidency of the African Union.
The event will close with remarks by Gigi Pezzoli, curator of the Exhibition by CMS Cultura at the Civic Museum of Bologna titled «Ex Africa – Stories and Identities of a Universal Art», one of the most important exhibitions of African art ever displayed in our Country.
