On Thursday, 27 June 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), Enzo Moavero Milanesi and the Minister of Education, University and Research (MIUR) Marco Bussetti have convened to the Farnesina the Scientific Attachés to participate in a Conference entitled “Italian-speaking Marine Technologies and Innovation” that, this year too, will be attended by eminent representatives of the world of research, universities, innovative companies and start-ups.
The topic chosen for this 2019 edition is extraordinarily important and topical: the development of marine technologies. The focus of the Conference will especially be on the role played by Italy in the Mediterranean area, with all its great complexity, challenges and opportunities: cultural, political, technological and commercial. The new edition of the Conference of Scientific Attachés aims to promote a fruitful exchange of ideas between major Italian innovators, both in Italy and abroad, so as to better coordinate Italy’s systemic strategy, investments and common efforts.
The Conference opening session is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. with remarks by Foreign Minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi and by Minister Marco Bussetti. The session will be moderated by the MAECI Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, Vincenzo De Luca.
At 10:30 a.m. the Conference agenda schedules the Prize Awarding Ceremony to be conferred upon an Italian researcher abroad and on the founder of an Italian start-up abroad.
At 1:00 p.m. there will be closing remarks by: the President of the Advisory Board to Public Research Agencies, Massimo Inguscio, the Vice President of the Conference of Italian University Rectors, Eugenio Gaudio, the Area Director of Industrial Policies of Confindustria, Andrea Bianchi and the Secretary General of the MAECI, Elisabetta Belloni.
The Conference proceedings will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and will be open to the press.
