On Thursday 19 September 2019, an aircraft of the Ministry of Defence will arrive at the Ciampino Military Airport in Rome carrying a group of minors from Benghazi as part of the humanitarian initiative promoted by the Italian Cooperation service in order to provide health care for Libyan paediatric patients. Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emanuela Del Re and Undersecretary for Defence, Giulio Calvisi, will be welcoming the first group of minors.
The patients, who are suffering from serious haematological diseases, will be cared for by the Bambino Gesu’ Children’s Hospital, which has partnered with the Italian cooperation service to carry out the initiative.
