On Tuesday, 5 November, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Farnesina will host the bilateral seminar titled “Celebrating 70 years of Diplomatic Relations. Italy and Israel Side-By-Side for Innovation”, an event celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Israel and dedicated to successful projects developed within the framework of the Agreement on Industrial, Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Italy and Israel.
The event will open with remarks by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emanuela Del Re, the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), Lucia Azzolina, the Foreign Ministry’s Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, Vincenzo de Luca, and the Israeli Ambassador to Italy, Dror Eydar.
The event will be followed by an award ceremony in which Deputy Foreign Minister Del Re and MIUR Undersecretary Azzolina will confer the Rita Levi Montalcini Award onto Professor Eytan Domany, from the Department of Physics of Complex Systems at the Weizmann Institute of Tel Aviv, who will spend four months at the University of Milan’s Department of Science and Environmental Policies, where he will work with Professor Caterina La Porta, group leader at the “Oncolab” laboratory, who was also present at the ceremony.
