Reminder – Press accreditation note – Stati Generali della lingua e della creatività italiane nel mondo [Estates-General on the Italian language and creativity in the world] (Palazzo della Farnesina, 29 November 2021)

The introductory speeches will be given by Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic; Luigi Di Maio, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Dario Franceschini, Minister of Culture; Maria Cristina Messa, Minister of Universities and Research (with a video message), and Barbara Floridia, Undersecretary for Education. The moderator will be Lorenzo Angeloni, Director General for the Promotion of Italy as a System.

 

The debate“Verso l’Italiano di domani” [“Towards tomorrow’s Italian”], moderated by Cecilia Piccioni, Deputy Director General & Central Director for the promotion of Italian Culture and Language, will begin at 10:45.

 

During the debate there will be a presentation of the outcomes of the work carried out by the four thematic Working Groups that contributed to preparing the event:

  • Working Group on L’Italiano nel mondo: formazione” [“Italian in the world: training”] – Spokesperson: Tiziana Lippiello, Rector of Ca ‘Foscari University
  • Working Group on “L’Italiano nel mondo: divulgazione” [“Italian in the world: disseimination”] – Spokesperson: Massimo Bray, Director General of the Institute of the Italian Encyclopedia founded by Giovanni Treccani
  • Working Group on “L’Italiano: fonte di creatività” [“Italian: source of creativity”] – Spokesperson: Claudio Fasulo, Deputy Director, RAI 1
  • Working Group on “L’Italiano: motore del Made in Italy e dell’innovazione” [“Italian: the driver of the Made in Italy label and of innovation”] – Spokesperson: Mauro Porcini, Senior Vice President and Chief Design Officer, PepsiCo

 

At 12.15 Benedetto Della Vedova, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will give the concluding speech, and the document “Verso l’italiano di domani: la lingua italiana ambasciatrice della creatività italiana e del Made in Italy” [“Towards tomorrow’s Italian: the Italian language as ambassador of Italian creativity and the Made in Italy label”], edited by Severino Salvemini of Bocconi University, will be adopted.

Photographers and TV operators will be able to watch the speeches directly in the conference room (Sala Conferenze Internazionali). Journalists will be able to watch them via an audio/video link in the listening room (Sala Aldo Moro). The event will also be live streamed on the Youtube channel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Journalists and camera operators wishing to attend can apply for accreditation not later than 12.00 on 26 November in one of the following ways:

 

  • ONLINE at the link https://portaleaccreditazione.esteri.it, to which the required digital documentation must be attached (a letter from the newspaper to which they belong) along with (for representatives of the foreign press) a Note Verbale from the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation they represent)
  • BY EMAIL at accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 / 3691.3432 – 06 / 3691.8573) attaching the documentation mentioned above.

 

For reasons of space, only the first accreditations received in chronological order will be accepted and only these will be confirmed for participation and entry to Palazzo della Farnesina. Those who do not receive confirmation of participation will not be permitted access.

Please note as of now: new requests for accreditation that are made on the same day as the event will not be accepted.

Any requests for positioning satellite vehicles must be emailed to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06/3691.3432-8573-8210) not later than 12 noon on 26 November, giving their vehicle registration numbers and vehicle models.

Accredited journalists and television operators, who must wear a mask, must show their green pass, and must submit to a body temperature check, will be able to access Palazzo della Farnesina from the left-hand side of the main entrance, in the following ways:

from 08.30 and no later than 09.15:              photographers and TV operators

from 08.30 to 09.45:                                     journalists

Journalists, photographers, and TV operators can also, if they wish, attend the launch event of Be It – the first “nation branding” campaign of Italy in the world– (for which a separate notice will be released), to take place on the same day (Monday 29 November) beginning at 11.30 a.m. in the Sala dei Trattati at the Farnesina, with the participation of Luigi Di Maio, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
