On Friday 24 March at 5:00 p.m., the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will host a press conference to present the humanitarian and peacekeeping mission organised by the Order of Friars Minor Conventual, Cooperativa Auxilium, the Community of Sant’Egidio and the FIGC (Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio), to provide aid and solidarity to the war-stricken Ukrainian population.

The presentation of the mission will be attended by Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, the President of the FIGC, Gabriele Gravina (in video conference from Malta), Franciscan Father Enzo Fortunato, the founder of Cooperativa Auxilium, Angelo Chiorazzo, the President of the Community of Sant’Egidio, Marco Impagliazzo and Giancarlo Viglione of the FIGC.

The humanitarian mission will leave Rome for Lviv to meet Ukrainian families and orphaned children, civil and religious authorities, but above all to distribute the aid donated by private citizens and the partners involved. During the press conference, the programme of the mission and the aid to be distributed will be presented. The event is intended as a sign of friendship and solidarity towards the Ukrainian people afflicted by war.

Press representatives interested in attending the event in person may apply for accreditation by sending their request by 23 March at 5:00 p.m. to the following e-mail address accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06/3691.3432 – 8573 – 3078), attaching the following:

 

For representatives of the Italian press:

  • copy of an identity document
  • letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card.

For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

Foreign press representatives already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs should send a request for accreditation with a copy of an identity document attached.

Accredited press may enter the Farnesina from the main entrance, left side, on 24 March from 4:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
