PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE
96th ANNIVERSARY OF THE LATERAN TREATY
Embassy of Italy to the Holy See, 13 February 2025
On Thursday 13 February 2025, at the Embassy of Italy to the Holy See (Palazzo Borromeo), in the presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the highest institutional representatives of the Italian Republic and the Holy See, the ninety-sixth anniversary of the Lateran Treaty and the forty-first anniversary of the Agreement amending the Concordat will be celebrated.
Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in covering the event at the Embassy of Italy to the Holy See may apply for accreditation by sending a request by Wednesday 12 February at 6:00 p.m. to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432 – 3078, or 8573), attaching the following:
for representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request shall be sent with a copy of an identity document attached;.
for representatives of Italian press organisations:
- copy of an identity document;
- letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card;
for representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
- copy of an identity document;
- letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
- Verbal Note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

Please note that on the day of the event (13 February 2025) no new accreditation requests will be accepted, except for unforeseen substitutions.
Accredited journalists, photographers and cameramen shall report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, main entrance, left side, from 2:30 and no later than 3.30 p,m., for the scheduled security checks (punctuality is requested).
A shuttle service will therefore leave from the Foreign Ministry to Palazzo Borromeo and back.
Considering the limited space available, only official photographers and cameramen will be allowed access to the room where the event is held.
Access to Palazzo Borromeo will not be allowed to journalists, photographers and cameramen, albeit previously accredited, who are going to the event by their own means, without having gone through the security checks at the Foreign Ministry and then being accompanied by the shuttle service on site.
Appropriate clothing for the event is required.
Submitting the above-mentioned personal data means authorising the use thereof in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 and the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the data controller, for strictly professional purposes and/or purposes related to the performance of the event in question.
